Why Hire a Designer

There are several reasons to hire a designer, but my most recent one might be my favorite.  Flipping through magazines such as "Elle Decor," "Interior Design," and "Architectural Digest" is something that we all enjoy either in line at the grocery store or every month when the new issues arrive in our mailboxes.  The spaces and items highlighted are incredibly beautiful and worth looking at again and again for inspiration.  However, many of the items highlighted in those pages are sold 'to the trade only.'

What does that mean?  Design firms such as By Design Interiors are the only places to get your hands on some of the most unique furniture, lighting and accessories from all over the world.  These are the companies that knock-off are created from!

The looks you see in these magazines, in movies and on TV aren't created with just items found in retail stores.  The looks are layered with pieces from companies based all over the world and who work with design professionals only.  By Design is a firm that works directly with many of these manufacturers to receive true wholesale buying power.  And unlike a retail store, we order items specifically for each individual client.  So there won't be 50 of the same lamp that we try to sell to all of our clients.  We design so that our spaces reflect our clients so every individual aspect of the design is specially chosen with them at heart.

So the next time you're browsing the pages of "House Beautiful" and you're wondering where you can get that fabulous console table with those incredible lamps and glass hurricane vases....chances are I'd be able to tell you!

These pages highlight just a few items that I've selected for client'sin two of the most design inspired magazines!  One of the wall coverings from House Beautiful was recently installed in a client's powder bath and looks so adorable.  Two of the globe light fixture found in last month's Elle Decor are to be installed this week in another one of my projects!

I think your work is so awesome and I love your style.
But I'm afraid I can't afford you. My budget is modest.
How do you charge for your services?
Can I buy your time or do you only do whole room projects?
What if I wanted to start out small like wall color, lighting and maybe a rug...
Could you help me get a game plan together that I can enact over time?
I really love your style and want the same for my home but I'm not sure I can afford you.
