During the late 1970s, Fred Carl, Jr. set out to custom create a range for his wife. It took years for manufacturers to build his prototype but once the public saw this exceptionally functioning range styled after commercial kitchen ranges, Fred Carl had a fully functioning factory within 6 months. Now, Viking products range from cooking, to refrigeration and ventilation. But their range is what Viking is known for.

Viking ranges come in multiple sizes and various configurations and can either have a gas stove or an electric one. Although many of us like the classic stainless steel, Viking also offers 26 custom colors including reds, reads and a beautiful chocolate brown.

In addition to burners, the range can also have a grill and a griddle. And if I were going to replace my range anytime soon, I would make sure it had a griddle. The Viking griddle is temperature controlled and it is meant to get dirty. The steel patinas and chars overtime without harboring bacteria, so it is already ready to cook. It easily cooks veggies, grilled cheeses, steaks and other meals and has an easily cleanable receptacle to gather all of oils and other bits of char. (Don't worry, the griddle comes with attractive covers to hide the mess!)

Milestone is not open to the public but if you're interested in seeing more Viking ranges and appliances or would like a meal prepared by a Viking Chef, contact me to set up an appointment!
