Today is the day- it's the 3-year anniversary of me meeting the man in my life for the 2nd time. The first was at a mutual friend’s wedding over 5 years ago. We sat by each other- both with our spouses- and had a nice time. When I say ‘nice time’ I mean it, there were no sparks, no signs that I would be or wanted to be with this guy someday. After that night, we never spoke or saw each other for two years.
On this day 3 years ago, we met for the 2nd time. Both being newly single, we were introduced by a dear friend who thought she was matchmaker of the year. Much to her surprise, we already knew each other. However, this meeting was much different than the first; this second meeting was accompanied by sparks which ignited an enduring and honest friendship.

It’s a friendship that's seen its share of ups and downs, for betters and worse and highs and lows. Now, after 3 years, his text is still the first I receive each morning and he is the last thing I thank God for each night.

Scott, you're the source of more joy and laughter than I ever imagined possible. Thank you for being who and what you are- an intoxicating cocktail of contrasts- you're as steady as a preacher and wild as a weed. You do it for me.
All my love,
