The Art of Everyday Living

Spring is here and with it, a time of 'out-with-the-old and in-with-the-new."   I've come to realize that the art of everyday living comes down to your daily pleasures.  Its the little things that bring the biggest smiles.  So as you are doing your spring cleaning, think of the little things that make your day.

So here are some 'little guilty pleasures' that make all the difference in the world.

1.  Good Towels!  There's nothing quite like stepping out of the shower and wrapping yourself up in a super soft, extra large towel.  For the extra piece of heaven, get a towel warming bar or drawer installed in your master bathroom.  If you thought a big soft towel was great, try a big soft heated towel!

2.  Yummy Bath Products!  Don't you just love how great your hair smells after leaving a salon?  Indulge yourself (and your honey) with some delicious smelling shampoos, soaps, salts, and lotions.

3.  Good Smelling Cleaners!  Most of us like our homes to smell fresh and clean- but not necessarily like Windex.  Invest in some good smelling cleaners- those with a hint of lavender are my favorite.

4.  A Beautiful Bed!  It is a known fact that a beautifully made bed reduces stress levels.  (I might have just made that up but I think its true!)  Dress your bed in cozy blankets, fine linens, a collection of stunning pillows and you will want to make your bed everyday!

5.  Good Lighting!  Great lighting and lighting control doesn't seem so important until you don't have it- its miserable without good lighting.  Install some undercabinet lighting, add a few more lamps, and/or put your lights on dimmer switches and you will be amazed at the difference it makes.

6. Meaningful Things! An easy way to freshen your home is to rearrange what you've already got.  Move some of your things around in your home to put the most meaningful objects where you see them the most.
