Taking the Shots

Last week my team at work had more spaces professionally photographed in order to enter them into design/building competitions and to use for advertising and marketing.  The photo shoots were incredibly draining; what you see with the naked eye looks completely different through the camera.  Sometimes moving an object just an inch would drastically change the composition of the photograph.

All four of us, my two assistants Amber and Erika, the photographer Andrea, and myself were constantly moving furniture, checking the camera, moving more stuff, rechecking the camera for hours in order to get the best shots.

The shoots are also pretty invasive; we completely take over the space moving furniture and accessories.  Sometimes we would have to photograph the space before so that we knew where to move everything back to.  Its kinda like camping- we try as hard as we can to leave each space exactly how we found it!

Don't worry- the photographs are coming! and they are stunning!

It is a lot of work, but its really worth it to capture the true beauty of each space in a way that regular photographs cannot. Plus working with you and Erika keeps me laughing all day!
