Style Trend 5: Contemporary + old school = one amazing look
One of my favorite showrooms every time I visit Market, is Henkel Harris. They create and fashion some of the finest furniture that not only looks classic and beautiful, but it also functions perfectly. While their inlay tabletops show expertise and wonderful craftsmanship, their drawers close like a knife through butter.

But the real reason I love their showroom is because of the way they combine their traditional styled furniture with contemporary colors and accessories. Room after room, we saw vignettes that have the perfect ‘collected over time’ look and feel. Wandering through their showroom feels like you’re walking through a beautifully lived in home.

Four-poster beds are dressed with bright colorful linens, a pink Audrey Hepburn painting is above the dresser while eastern influenced lanterns hand over the seating area. All of these elements were pulled together effortlessly and looked as though a homeowner was well traveled and well versed in a myriad of styles.

The first thing my assistant Erika did after we walked out was text her mom saying “don’t you ever get rid of any of your furniture!”
