Style Trend 2: Men’s ware….first floor
Another hot trend circling around the interior design world is the influence of fashion on interior décor. Fabrics like hounds tooth, poly wools, and pinstripes fashioned after men’s clothing were everywhere adorning sofas, chairs, pillows and even on walls.
The textural fabrics were beautiful when upholstered on a chic feminine sofa or edgy when placed on a more masculine furniture form.
But design trends weren’t just mimicking men’s fashions; furniture and bathroom hardware are being designed after women’s jewelry and are beautiful enough to wear. Handles and pulls are delicate and excessively detailed- reminiscent of art deco designs.
