Style Trend 4: Beachy but not too beachy
Living on the gulf coast, Houstonians are attracted to the beachy theme of home furnishings. Being only an hour from a beach, we love the water, wind, sun and sand.
Up until recently, it’s been difficult to find beach themed furniture and accessories that didn’t feel like we were vacationing in Hawaii. Not that that’s a problem but more subtle pieces can be adapted and change styles over time.
Throughout this market, we saw beautiful items that, while “beachy” were more classic and could be used in any style.
Using natural materials such as rattan or printing botanical prints on linens, line drawings of sea creatures are ways of introducing an ocean theme without being over the top.
