No one likes the daunting task of cleaning our homes during Spring, so here are some quick and easy tips for this cleaning season.
Declutter
“Relegating a sentimental item you no longer have use for to a box in the closet, basement or attic does nothing to honor it. Instead, take a photo of the item and put it in a scrapbook or load it on your digital picture frame. Then donate the item. It’s both space-saving and respectful.” -- Scott, Roewer, professional organizer

Use beautiful storage baskets instead of boxes to hide some clutter, cleaning products or anything else you need to stash someplace.
Organizing
“Every few months, I take a weekend and try on every item of clothing I own…and I own a lot! I make three piles, 1. Keep 2. Donate 3. Maybe (I try these on again and they get put into one of the first two piles). As I put everything back, I organize it accordingly.” – Erika Barczak
“Is your linen closet overflowing? Pare down your stock to three towels and washcloths per person, two sets of sheets per bed, plus a set of each for guests. Voila! A roomier linen closet.” – Laura Wittman

An ostrich feather duster looks cute sitting in a hurricane vase.
Cleaning
“A pretty duster near framed photos- When a cleaning tool is artful enough to stay in plain view, it should- you’ll use it more often. Hang a glam duster on the wall, or keep it upright in an opaque tapered vase. A little TLC for pictures every few days minimizes the buildup that always makes you groan.” January 2011 Real Simple
