Every time my mom comes to visit me, I love it when she rearranges all of my accessories throughout my home. And placing accessories is part of my job! But sometimes, when someone else sees your stuff and doesn't have an emotional attachment to the objects, they can arrange and rearrange your things in the most fabulous of ways!
I have a new client who lived with her husband and children in China for the better part of a decade. Throughout their time in a different country and throughout their exotic travels, this family collected a tremendous amount of furniture, art, accessories, etc. When the family relocated back to the U.S., the wife placed her items exactly where they were in her old home and really wasn't feeling it. Throughout the course of a day, my team and I rearranged everything on the first floor and transformed her new house into her home.
