Minding your Manners

I recently read an article about manners and it got me thinking about my phone.  Now, I am not a big fan of my phone (I believe it has a mind and agenda all of its own) but I use it all of the time!  Its my camera, recorder, calender, and email device on top of being how I communicate with family, friends and clients.  Unlimited Plan, you have paid for yourself already!

However, with the accessibility of technology, Facebook, Twitter and whatnot all on these little bits of hardware, we've lost a little sense of "old school."  When I say "old school," I mean "talking face-to-face" with people.  Its time to turn off our cell phones at the dinner table, during meetings, at our kid's football games and go back to having good ol' fashioned conversations.

Not getting much talking around the table...try getting a "Conversation Cube."  Its a little acrylic box full of fun questions that can help jump start any conversation!  "What's your favorite dirty word and why?" "What's the most scared you've ever been?" "What song would you sing at karaoke?" Hmmm...now people are talking!

It also goes that when you hear about an attractive panitet, you were never there. It's always well I heard that crew X had an attractive panitet on a call the other day . When you delve deeper, crew X tells you it was actually crew Y I think these are just stories we tell each other to feel better about using our elbows for scaffolding to place precordial leads day in and day out.
