Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles and Brothers out there!
My Dad is my dad by choice.
He came into our lives when I was about 3.
My mom and I had just moved to Bethany, Oklahoma so she could attend college. It was in the early 60’s and at that time, single mothers weren’t really socially acceptable.
Let’s just say the hand of providence brought my family together in the most amazing and incredible way.
On my parents wedding day- I told my kindergarten class ‘my mom and I were getting married.’ I can still remember standing before a judge in family court telling him I wanted Larry Mills to be my dad. On that day, he adopted me- I was chosen.
I believe in a loving Heavenly Father, largely because of my earthy father’s unchanging, unconditional and steady love that has weathered the test of me!
I love you Dad!
Thank you for being so true to what you know is right.
You bless all that know you-and lucky for us- We get to call you Dad and Pop!
