Selecting granite and/or other natural products for countertops and other uses is one of the most unique aspects to interior design. But don't think that just us designers get to have all of the fun. Homeowners are encouraged to visit stone yards and select their pieces themselves. If you haven't ever been, I highly suggest taking a visit.

First of all and pretty obvious, everything is completely made from the earth; every piece of material is incredibly diverse and such a reflection of the beautiful earth that supports us.

Second of all, the availability of different stones is always changing; as a piece of stone is quarried out of the earth, an identical piece will never be found. And as a type of stone is used up, a new stone is discovered and available to be made into something really special.

Some of the slabs are so incredibly beautiful that they can be used as artwork! And what I find even more amazing, is that every single slab is totally and completely different and unique from every other piece.

There really isn't anything quite like what God has made for us!
