This project is a great example of the design process; there is so much that goes into every decision, every selection and every detail.  The first step is to begin with a concept and establish a framework for the project.  Inspiration for the project can be found just about anywhere; magazines, vacation spot, books, movies, etc.  As the concept strengthens and becomes for solidified, designers begin to put the pieces together.  Space planning is one of the most important steps in design.  Before anything aesthetic can be applied, the space must function well.  Not only do we work from rough sketches, designers also create very technical drawings that specify exactly what a space is to look like.  Additionally, there is always a budget.  Selecting products that not only fit within the budget but also function well for the end user is incredibly important.  As all of the pieces come together, the space takes shape and lives the design concept.
