As a Designer- you really must understand people- I often think a degree in psychology would have been helpful! You really must not only love design- but also those for whom you are designing. I know very many degreed designers who no longer practice their craft. You really have to understand your clients' needs, wants, values, down to the intimate details to really create an interior that will long serve them.
You must understand how they live, relax, read, entertain, hobbies, and most of all- their desires- because we have the ability with good design to set the stage for very real connections. It’s a true honor to design a home.
