Designing for your inner you

As interior designers, we find inspiration in many things; an exquisite sofa, a light fixture, a room scene, or a painting.  However, what we do is so incredibly personal that our best inspiration comes from deep within ourselves and our personal relationships with our clients that evolve over time.  My assistant Erika just recently attended a seminar where a fabulous architect/design said some pretty amazing and inspirational things.  Here's a little food for thought for the day...

We each have an inner person that reflects who we most want to be: we all have this place deep inside that houses the ideas we hold the closest and the thoughts that motivate us throughout each day.  This inner self doesn't always show up, but when it does, it reflects our best selves.

Our job as interior designers is to help you figure out who that inner person is and create a space that totally reflects that image.  So, your inner being has a sanctuary to call home, a place to thrive, mature and cultivate.

Being a designer isn't all about eye-candy!

What a great way to word what designers do! You hit the nail on the head with saying that it isn't all about eye candy..there is so much more to it than just creating a pretty room...well said!
