Decorating Your Mantel...Repetition

The winning ticket in decorating is figuring out how to display all of your special collectibles in a way that lets them all shine without being to cramped or sparse feeling.

It can be tricky filling the large area of space above a mantel, on a console, sofa table, or bookshelf.  If items are too small they may feel puny and insignificant...but grouping items together to create a bigger impact.

The picture on the left grouped the 2 prints together to create a vertical line and make a bigger statement.  On the right, the bookshelf displays grouped a couple different things...silver vases on bottom left, white pears above the television and the small frames hanging beside the bookshelf.

Your beaded grlaand is gorgeous, Donna! I just wound up using beaded grlaand that I found in the bottom of one of my containers {really forgot I had it at all}. I think if I like the beaded grlaand on the mantel through to Christmas, I may look for a nicer one at the after Christmas sales for next year.
