Window Treatments
Day 2 with Alexa Hampton
I firmly believe a space isn't complete until you have window treatments and here are a few reasons why from Alexa Hampton with a little personal input.
*Save your money until you can do window treatments right! Yes, they are expensive but there is no shortcut for window treatments. In my personal home, I finished my windows in stages beginning with woven woods which, can enhance or hide under treatments and then I added silk panels.

*It might sound harsh, but unlined window treatments that are not well done look like shower curtains. Of course, I would never consider making my own window treatments- that i know my limits in this world! But there is nothing better than handmade panels or hand embellished store bought panels.
*Window treatments serve several purposes- they soften a room making it more cozy and inviting. They can also frame a beautiful room or hide a less slightly one.

*Architectural elements and style of furnishings are enhanced with window treatments- whether you like period furnishings, mid century modern, or baroque and heavily embellished - your window treatments echo and further carry your design intent.
*I am increasingly becoming a fan of sheers because of how they soften the light and view. If sheers are tinted they can give your room a glow like candlelight.
