Cy-Fair Home and Garden Show

This past weekend, the Berry Center hosted the Cy-Fair Home and Garden Show and I was fortunate to work with Keechi Creek Builders with their display. Keechi Creek Builders and Timeless Landscape Creations work closely with clients to design and build custom homes, remodels, and outdoor living spaces.

The two companies created an amazing display that could have been easily confused with a real home and its surrounding outdoor living area. Keechi Creek’s completely custom-built kitchen served as a wonderful example of their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and abilities to create beautiful one-of-a-kind designs.

When it comes to working with residential clients, the biggest job for interior designers and builders is to make a house a home. Function is just as important as aesthetics and we work hand-in-hand with clients to make sure their space not only looks wonderful but works perfectly for them as well. While updating and remodeling a home not only improves the value of a home, it also improves our quality of life.

One of the most important things I’ve learned about the design industry is that design is such a collaborative adventure. On this project alone, over two-dozen people were consulted with and/or worked hands-on with various parts. Created Faux You finished the cabinetry in beautiful hand painted faux finishes. Several employees of Thorntree Slate were consulted with on several occasions to select and provide the unique backsplash and flooring options. Kathy Johnson of Bath and Kitchen Showplace and Lori Hymel of Kohler added their expertise and assistance with the beautiful bathroom and kitchen hardware selections. Myself, along with Amber and Erika, helped in the design process as well as adding the finishing touches which make a space so welcoming. In addition, carpenters, landscapers, tile-setters and other craftsmen were hired to create the amazing components that allowed this unbelievable project to come together.
